There are so many great wedding venues in and around Bristol and you can be sure that Doctor Chocolate have pretty much played in them all! We know the room layouts and the restrictions for most wedding venues in the area and we work with your venue to ensure that we are set up where we are supposed to be and comply with all their requirements too!
Doctor Chocolate will arrive in good time and at a time that is pre-agreed with you! If you haven’t requested an early set up before your guests arrive then we arrive at about 5:45pm. Once on site, we see how your timings are going and whether we can set up in the room or whether we need to wait a while before we can get in. As soon as the room is ready we are normally set up and sound checked within an hour and we put on recorded music as soon as we possibly can. Our PA system is top of the range, it is clear and gives a great sound. What’s more, to ensure we sound great all evening we have our own sound engineer who mixes every song and makes sure thatour sound fits with any restrictions that the venue has in place.
After setting up and sound checking, the recorded music is playing (unless you have a DJ) and we will disappear out of sight to a nearby room to get changed and remain until our first set.
Doctor Chocolate can play your first dance if you require us to play it. You will need to give us a bit of notice so that we can get together and rehearse the song in advance. We have had grooms come up and sing to their partners, brides join us on stage to sing for their partners and a husband who sang and a wife who played sax join us on stage. Whatever your requirements please just talk to us and we can adapt our service to suit your requirements.
Doctor Chocolate play for 2 x 1 hour sets with a short break in between. The songs in the sets are all high-energy and many are non-stop as we like to make sure you get your money’s worth and the dance floor is packed all night long. Where there are any breaks the front man will talk to your guests and get them involved in the evening – there’s nothing worse than a band stopping the music and having that awkward few seconds to a minute whilst they discuss what they are going to play next! Doctor Chocolate don’t do that. Our performances are slick and polished so you can be sure that the music will be played at the highest standard and there will be no awkward silences in between songs.
When the band stop for a short break this is normally the time for the wedding evening buffet but as soon as this is over we are back on stage again and belting out that music.
