Doctor Chocolate were delighted to be entered into the South West Wedding Awards for 2016 and even more delighted to reach the finalists stage. We didn’t win. But we did receive a copy of all the lovely testimonials that our previous clients had sent in to the awards and they were lovely to read.
“They were the ultimate professionals from taking my initial enquiry through to packing up at the end of the event and all the hundreds I sent them in between! They performed with panache in less than idea environment. They were flexible then timings went to pot and were such fun! They really did get everyone dancing even those that are confirmed ‘don’t dance’ers! All our guests were mightily impressed and probably talked about them long after all the fuss about the bride and groom died down! Really, everyone at our wedding, including the venue owners had nothing but praise for these guys! Totally worth the expense!”
“The most accommodating fantastic group I have ever seen, they worked with us to ensure our guests enjoyed a fantastic evenings entertainment”
“Sarah and the band of DR Chocolate really make your wedding go with a swing. Our wedding guests were constantly on the dance floor. Sarah has an abundance of energy and ensures that you receive 150% of fun, perfection and great musicians. They are a fantastic band that We would highly recommend DR chocolate as they never fail to provide 5 star entertainment.”

“Amazing! We couldn’t have asked for more, especially working with my husband to practice the first ‘song’.”
“Real good party band Great night”
“Absolutely amazing from first phone call to the night Their crowd interaction and experience was second to none and also dealt with a fussy venue owner with a limiter Excellent musical ability and singing Truly a brilliant wedding band!”
“Excellent 9 piece band. Brilliant feedback from all the guests at the wedding reception. A most memorable evening had by all and the Dr Chocolate band were very professional and slick in their performance. A great night!”
Here’s a lovely photo of our lovely bride, Holly, from Saturday night who joined us up on the stage and certainly gave it some welly on vocals with the band. Awesome stuff. And here’s a lovely thank you we received the next morning…
“Thank you a million zillion you were amazing and you now have an even bigger fan club. Graham and I loved every minute. Thank you for making it so fun filled and your band. Hope you can relax today. Thank you xx” Holly & Graham
Well we had a fantastic evening too and thank you both for inviting Doctor Chocolate to be your wedding band!
Although, Sarah’s dress had a wardrobe malfunction just before going on stage as the zipper in the dress broke completely. Sarah must have been a boy scout in a previous life as she had another 3 dresses in the suitcase “just in case”. On this occasion she went for the Bet Lynch option of a tiger print dress – she was just missing the earings!
Well, as you all know, Doctor Chocolate is a fabulous wedding band and we had the pleasure of playing for Andy & Jill’s evening celebrations as part of their wedding day in July 2016 near the city of Exeter.
Andy and Jill had set up a huge marquee in a field behind their public house and invited, what appeared to be, the entire village to help them celebrate their wedding in style. It was a mad evening and Doctor Chocolate ensured that we kept the dancefloor packed all night long with our versions of songs from the 1960’s to present day chart numbers – all performed with style and passion! Our sets contain the best music and with our fab brass section our sound is full and lively so the dance floor was of course rammed with some pretty funky dancing styles and lots of audience interaction too! A truly fabulous evening and we had an absolute blast!
This was the thank you we received the very next morning….
“To Sarah and all the band, thank you for a truly fabulous night – wow, you were brilliant – far better than we could have hoped. Everyone loved you. The atmosphere was amazing and you really made our day complete. Thank you again xxxxx” Andy & Jill
The thank you’s didn’t stop there though…… following the event and adding a picture on our Facebook Page other guests popped up and commented too…

Hi Doctor Chocolate
Thank you for playing at the Culm Valley Young Farmers Party! It was fantastic night and since the ball I have had so many people comment on how great a night it was. You guys did such a good job, you brought the whole thing to life and made it a night to remember which was just what we needed after having to move sites this year and all the stresses that came with it!
Thank you Gemma! Wow! What a great night. There were nearly 800 young farmers in the biggest marquee in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere which looked superb! The band’s changing room was a caravan which was unusual but welcome! Everyone looked amazing and once the band started there was a rush to the dance floor and the next minute it was full of revellers who sang and danced their hearts out for the remainder of the evening! What a great crowd! We’ve got some great video footage of everyone that we will upload soon!
Hi Doctor Chocolate,
Just wanted to send an email to say how Fantastic the band were on Saturday night, I don’t think I saw an empty dance floor all night, your band was truly remarkable and worth every penny.

Wow – Doctor Chocolate received a lovely telephone call from a lady who came along to the Santander Charity Event on the Grand Pier on Saturday 12th September!
She rang to say how much she enjoyed the event and that she thought the band were fantastic! That the dance floor was packed all evening and the songs played were spot on. She thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the music/fun and energetic musicians on stage.
We were so taken aback by the loveliness of the conversation we forgot to take her name! So – whoever you are – thank you for taking the time out to call us and say thank you – it is much appreciated!
“Well many thanks for a great night, everybody was saying how fantastic you all sounded, and looking forward to seeing you again.”
“My feet were a bit sore for a couple of days, but all good other wise XX
It was a great night”
Ian and Deishan Luffman
Doctor Chocolate played for a Charity Evening at Exeter Chiefs earlier in 2015. Half-way through the evening Deishan came up to the band for a business card and to book the band for a joint birthday/anniversary party in Exeter. Well luckily the night was clear and the band drove down the motorway a short distance to Exeter for the party. It turned out to be a fancy dress party and the guests looked amazing! Everyone threw themselves into the spirit of the evening and the costumes were fantastic. The first song the band played and the dance floor was packed. It stayed that way all evening as sadly the time came when the band had to stop playing. A great birthday party and Doctor Chocolate were pleased to be a part of the celebrations!
“Would definitely have them back. The people here loved them.”
Doctor Chocolate were asked to play at the Concorde Club in Southampton for the Halloween Celebrations on 31st October 2015. Doctor Chocolate are based in and around Bristol but travel all over the UK – playing at parties and celebrations wherever there is a need for a fantastic party band! This was a good 3 hours drive there and back but what a lovely reception when the band arrived – the hotel had put out coffees ready for the bands arrival, provided sandwiches, soft drinks and fries during the break and were really helpful and friendly. The crowd started to arrive and band members peaked out to see a lot of them were in ballgowns and suits – not many were arriving in halloween costume – as the band had been asked to wear halloween outfits – we didn’t have a back-up on this occasion (one to remember for future years!). But on a second peak a crowd of guests arrived in full fancy dress and makeup so we knew we would fit right in.
As well as the Doctor Chocolate party sets we included Ghostbusters and Thriller for this night – we can also add in other halloween numbers if required. If you have an event coming up and need us to theme it then just ask! Christmas is coming and we have quite a few Christmas songs in our repertoire too!
“Thank you and the band for yet again another brilliant performance – it was superb. You were brilliant and everyone enjoyed the night and we raised loads for Broadway Lodge.
Hope you like the photos and hope we can get together again soon.”
Karen Kirby, Broadway Lodge
This was Doctor Chocolate’s second booking from Broadway Lodge – we had the pleasure of performing for their celebrations in 2014 at the Winter Gardens in Weston super Mare which was a great night and everyone enjoyed the band so much they asked us back again! On this night in October it was a dinner/dance at Cadbury House, just outside of Weston super Mare and they were raising much needed funds for the charity – snooker player Willie Thorne was there and gave a very entertaining and funny after dinner speech to all. The Chocs started and the dance floor soon filled up – not bad for a Thursday evening – guests were certainly up for a party!
Doctor Chocolate set up nice and early so we were out of the venue before the guests started to arrive for their drinks reception (orange juice of course!) and we popped over to the sports centre for a short time. We returned to the venue ready to start our first set with plenty of time to spare and waited until speeches and the silent auction were complete before starting our first set and get the party started – as we went on later than expected we just did one long set straight through and just kept the hit songs coming and the guests on the dance floor.
